Whether it's caused by an eye disease or direct, physical damage to the eye, over 100 million people in the world have some degree of visual impairment today. From that population, only about 15% have no visual perception of light; so what is life like for those people?

What do you see? You see nothing, and neither does the blind ghost watching over you. They didn't see you either. But they're judging you; hard. Put yourself in their shoes. One hundred percent of blind people can't see color. That statistic should shock you, and if it didn't, what are you doing? |

Her name's Patricia Applebottom VI. She came from a long line of Applebottoms, who first originated in Ireland but moved to Kentucky in the 1820s and have lived in the same home ever since. Every woman of the family has been named Patricia and has been blind, and they have all married deaf men named Alex. Patricia Applebottom VI, however, was not aware of this criteria, and married a deaf woman named Alexis Vikkle in 1986. She was mute.
